Acoustic Guitar/Band Leader
Derek’s musical endeavors started when he bought his first drum kit at the age of 13. Over the next few years, music began to transform from just a hobby to a true passion. At age 16, Derek began learning both the guitar and bass guitar. He enjoys playing all of these instruments, but the one he connects with the most is the acoustic guitar. He has been leading/assisting worship for 20 years. Professionally, Derek has been working for Claiborne Sharp Professional Audio for over 15 years doing service, training, installation, and system design. He also enjoys recording and producing in his home studio. Derek has been married to his wife, Heather, for 7 years. Together, they have a 1 year old son named Liam and a mischievous cat named Toby. When Derek is not playing music, he enjoys cyling, carpentry work, watching movies, and spending time working outdoors. We are very excited to have Derek as a part of our team and look forward to all the great ways God will continue to work in his life!
Jonathan was born in San Antonio, but moved frequently depending on where the Air Force stationed his father. His love for music began early on. He grew up watching his mom play the piano and his dad sing. Around age 10, he joined the choir at his church and thus began his journey with music. Altogether, Jonathan has been singing and playing instruments for around 30 years. His primary instrument is the piano; however, he also knows how to play the guitar, bass, drums, and (his initial instrument) the trumpet. After high school, Jonathan went to college briefly, but decided to join the Army. He was part of the 25th Infantry Division for 3 years where he was stationed in Hawaii. The most interesting place he traveled to in the Army was Japan. Jonathan has a really cool job! He works as a Leutinent for the CSI Department of Bossier Parish.
